The campaign for saturation of all PM Kisan beneficiaries with Kisan Credit Card (KCC) was launched at a meeting of bankers and line departments, which was chaired by Pu R. Vanrengpuia, Additional Deputy Commissioner and held at DC Conference Hall, Lunglei today. To enable universal access to concessional institutional credit, Government of India has initiated a drive in Mission Mode for saturating all PM-KISAN beneficiaries with Kisan Credit Card (KCC). All PM-Kisan beneficiaries who have not availed KCC loans from bank will be eligible for KCC loans for crop, fisheries and animal rearing activities.

Addressing the meeting, Pi Lalhlupuii, LDM and Pu Evan T Munsong, DDM, NABARD highlighted the guidelines and features of the special drive for coverage of PM-KISAN beneficiaries under KCC.

To ensure ease of application, a simplified form of one page has been developed for coverage of PM-KISAN beneficiaries under KCC and beneficiaries can approach the bank branch from where they are drawing PM-KISAN benefit, for issue of KCC to them. All charges including the processing, documentation, inspection and ledger folio charges as well as other service charges for KCC loans upto 3 lakhs have been waived. KCC benefit has now been extended to Animal Husbandry and Fisheries farmers also.  Those farmers who are KCC holders and also do Animal husbandry and Fisheries activities can approach the branch for sanction of additional limit.

It was reported that there are 67,534 PM KISAN beneficiaries and only 20,899 numbers of active KCCs in Mizoram State.
