Kolasib 7th October 2020: A meeting of Kolasib District Level Consultation Committee, FOCUS was held at DC Conference Hall, Kolasib discussing on the 128 applications received under the Innovation Fund within the district. The meeting also reviewed and discussed the convergence plan of FOCUS and MGNREGA for the year 2021-22 cover 10 disciplines.

The meeting chairman Dr. H.Lalthlangliana, Deputy Commissioner urged the committee to utilize the Innovation Fund in identifying and uplifting deserving and creative farmers of the district, stating that farmers who strive for success should be given assistance instead of farmers who wait for assistance to be successful.

The committee resolved to form Expert Committee, which will study and analyse the feasibility of the 128 applications and submit their findings not later than 15th October, 2020 for final selection. The 128 applications mainly consist of plans related to animal husbandry, Arecanut plantation, Food, rubber and coffee processing units.

Proposed convergence plan between FOCUS and MGNREGA for the year 2021-22 consist of Dragon fruit, arecanut, Rubber plantation, Eri and Muga Rearing, Fish Pond construction, Logwood bunding, Bench Terracing and Construction of pig sty.
