The Krishi Karman Award for 2011-12 will be given away by President Pranab Mukherjee in Delhi on January 15, 2013. These awards are given to best performing States in production of rice, wheat, coarse cereals, pulses and total foodgrains.

Mizoram has been given a COMMENDATION AWARD for 2011-12 in recognition of the increase in production and productivity of total food grains recorded by the State in 2010-11.

The selection of the award was made known to Agriculture Minister Shri H Liansailova through a written acknowledgement from Sharad Pawar, Minister of Agriculture and Food Processing Industries, Government of India.

State Agriculture Minister Shri H Liansailova, Principal Secretary (Agriculture) and Agriculture Director have been invited to the function.

Chief Minister, Lal Thanhawla and Agriculture Minister, H Liansailova commended the farmers of Mizoram for the special achievement and stated that the Government would leave no stone unturned for the continued growth of agriculture and allied activities in the State.
