Dated Lawngtlai, 20th December 2024 : A launching of 'Good Governance Week 2024' and 'Workshop on Good Governance Practices' was held at the DC Conference Hall under the Chairmanship of Shri. Cheemala Siva Gopal Reddy, IAS, Deputy Commissioner here in the district capital today.
At the outset, Shri. Cheemala Siva Gopal Reddy thanked and expressed his appreciation to all the members present at the launching programme. He highlighted that all the Public Servants have immense responsibilities and duties towards the realisation of Good Governance and urged them to always remember that they are working for the larger benefit of the public. He also pointed out that a Government employees should have good manners, behaviour, humility and responsiveness in dealing with the people. Further the Deputy Commissioner alluded to the importance of giving special attention to Senior citizens and persons with special needs.
Later in his speech, the Deputy Commissioner mentioned about 'Citizen Care- Grievance Redressal Day' under taken by DC Office once every month and said that such initiatives is necessary in the realisation of Good Governance into practice. He expressed the necessity of transparency, accountability and efficiency for every public servants and encourages them to work tirelessly for the accomplishment of Good Governance Week.
Dr. Saithantluangi Zote, SDC, had a pawer point presentation on 'Good Governance Practices'. In her presentation she covered various topics -The Mizoram Right to Public Services Act, 2015, Result Framework Document (RDF), Citizen's Charter, Mipui Aw, Self Certification, Community Policing and Sanitation through Public Participation.
At today's function, varous Head of Department and government employees were present and the programme concluded with the proposal of vote of thanks from Shri. Zonunchama Ralte, DIPRO.
As per directions from the Central Government, 'Good Governance Week 2024' will be observed under the theme " Prashasan Gaon Ki Ore (Taking Administration to Villages) " from 19th - 24th December, 2024.
