Law & Judicial Minister Pu TJ Lalnuntluanga yesterday inaugurated newly constructed MJA Press Club here at Champhai.  The inaugural programme was attended by Head of Offices from Champhai, Officials from Aizawl and representatives from MJA General Hqtrs. Aizawl, among others.

Speaking on the occasion, the Minister congratulated the Champhai District MJA for reaching a milestone, the newly inaugurated Press Club and succesfully conducting their 32nd Annual Conference. Mentioning different contributions   and valuable advises proposed to him by MJA Champhai, he said that various progress works like Border Trade, Master Plan, Building Regulations, Road Safety, transportation and many others are in progress at faster pace. While mentioning the importance of Media and Journalism, Law Minister urged the Media fraternity to maintain proper standard of living decorated with respects and reminded them being a guardian of the public.  Also at the function, the Minister said that apart from Aizawl and Lunglei, Pollution Control Test will be starting soon at various district which are having DTO to counter the menace posed by pollution.   

The other speaker Pu C.Lalhnunpuia, President, Champhai District MJA made earnest appeal to all Officers working in Champhai to   make milestone whilst serving here at Champhai. The inaugural programme was presided over by Pu R.Lalfakawma, Vice President, Gen Secretary Pu C.Lalrinsanga gave general report and Pu Lalhlupuia,Information Secretary presented the technical report. Pu Lalhmingmawia Pachuau, EM proposed vote of thanks. The MJA Press Club is four storeys building occupying a total dimention of 55 feet x 26 feet with a total expenditure of rupees 40 lakhs.   

At the forenoon, meeting was held on the occation of 32nd Annual Conference, discussed various issues pertaining to the association. Leaders for 2020-2022 were elected under the guidance of representatives from MJA Gen Hqtrs, Aizawl- Pu Zonunsanga Khiangte, President, Pu Lalremsiama, Vice President and Pu RP Poudel, MJA Member. The newly elected office bearers are: Pu Lalhmingmawia Pachuau, Editor Pasaltha Daily Newspaper (President), Pu Lalhlupuia, Editor, Lenrual Daily Newspaper (Vice President),   Pu Lalhmingliana, News Editor, Champhai Cable Network (Treasurer), apart from these OB’s, 5 Executive Committee members were also elected. 

Prior to the Press Club inaugural programme, the Minister visited the proposed site for District Court Champhai, discussed about the construction with Officials from Law and Judicial, PWD and district Officials.  He then proceeded to District Transport Office, interacted  with the staffs and discussed about various topics.
