Aizawl, 5th September 2023: Labour, Employment, Skill Development & Entrepreneurship Department (LESDE Deptt.) and Common Service Centres (CSCs) along with CYMA jointly organized e-SHRAM, PM-SYM & NPS-TRADERS Registration Camp for Unorganised Workers on 31st August, 2023 in five districts, namely, Mamit, Saitual, Serchhip, Lawngtlai, and Khawzawl, and in Hnahthial on August 25th, 2023.

On this occasion, over 3000 people turned up and 1580 eligible unorganized workers were registered on the e-SHRAM Portal which is a national database of unorganized workers in the country. The Ministry of Labour and Employment launched e-SHRAM Portal on 26th August, 2021 to aid in the delivery of various social security programmes and schemes such as PM-SBY, an insurance scheme for accidental death and disability, PMJJBY an insurance scheme for death of any cause, PM-SYM, a pension scheme for unorganized workers, etc. which have been implemented by the Central and State Governments for the welfare of the unorganized workers. Eligible unorganized workers can also self-register on the portal, as well as register at Common Service Centres (CSCs) available in all the districts, using their Aadhar Card and Bank Passbook.
