Dated Saitual the 7th September 2023: Mizoram DGP Pu Anil Shukla, IPS, visited Saitual District Police today.

During his stay in Saitual, DGP Anil Shukla expressed his pleasure with the police's performance, praising their efforts and urging them to continue their commendable work. He highlighted three primary reasons for his District tour:

1. To address and see ground realities of the drug trafficking issue.
2. To assess police readiness for the upcoming general elections.
3. To evaluate on-ground resources and understand the district Police requirements.

DGP Anil Shukla conducted a thorough inspection of the Saitual police station and the Superintendent of Police (SP) office, reviewing current facilities and operations. At a brief program in the SP's conference room, he engaged with the police staff, listened to their concerns, and assured them of his support. Emphasizing the importance of duty and discipline, he also stressed the significance of health, urging officers to prioritize their well-being. He specifically asked the SP to arrange medical check-ups for the personnel. A key focus of his address was the need for stringent measures against drug issues and road safety, seeking active collaboration in these areas.

The SP of Saitual Pu Pukhraj Kamal IPS presented a report indicating that the district has one police sub-division and two police stations. The current strength of Saitual District Police is 80 , although the sanctioned strength is 141. The common crimes in Saitual District include theft, MLP Act , POCSO and ND&PS related offenses.

DGP Shukla was accompanied by the DIG Pu Thomas Zodingliana and other police officials from Aizawl. Having already visited Champhai and Khawzawl, Pu Anil Shukla has plans to visit more districts in the near future.
