The Minister for Land Revenue and Settlement Pu Lalruatkima today visited the proposed site for Surveyor Training Institute at Hualngohmun.
Initiative for the development of Surveyor Training Institute started more than a decade back with the LR&S Department purchasing private lands at Hualngohmun in 2006. The Department holds land lease for 24.22 bighas at the proposed construction site. According to officials of the Revenue Department, there are 49 sanctioned surveyor posts lying vacant which cannot be filled up in part due to the unavailability of well-trained surveyors.
Accompanied by the Director of LR&S Pu K.Lalhmingliana and other officials from the Department, Minister Pu Lalruatkima today while visiting the proposed site, asked officials to draw up viable concept and plans for construction of the Institute which shall further be taken up at higher levels in the State as well as the Central Government.
