Whereas information has been made available before me that the Zobawk Village Joint Action Coordination Committee, Lunglei is planning to block NH 54 in their village area starting Monday the 30th July at 06:00 am, as they had already done on 26th and 27th July, 2018, which is likely to cause public inconvenience and will be a threat to public and tranquility.
And whereas I am satisfied that an emergency has thus risen which necessitates immediate action and speedy remedy for maintenance of public order and tranquility and necessitates proceedings under Section 144 CrPC.
Hence, I, Dr Ankita Chakravarty, IAS, Deputy Commissioner, Lunglei by virtue of the powers vested in me under Section 144 of the Criminal Code of Procedure, 1973, do hereby prohibit any assembly of more than five persons within Lunglei District with effect from 30.07.2018 at 06:00 am up until 3rd August 2018 within the jurisdiction of Lunglei District.
