MASS TREE PLANTING DRIVES AT SIAHA DISTRICT UNDER MNREGS FOR JAL SHAKTI ABHIYAN

Under the aegis of District Coordination Committee Jal Shakti Abhiyan, Siaha a mass tree planting drives was carried out at the catchment Area of the main water source of Siaha Greater water supply scheme , at Tlâpih region, here at Siaha today.

A mass tree planting drives was executed under the supervision of Shri. Bhupesh Chaudhary, IAS Deputy Commissioner, Siaha District.

About 3500 persons comprising NYK volunteers, College students, Village Council members from 11 VCs and staff of various departments/offices within Siaha town partcipated in this Mass tree planting drives and managed to plant 10,000 saplings.

Afforestation is one of the five targeted interventions envisaged by JSA for conservation of water and water resources management.
