10 Assam Rifles under the aegis of 23 Sector Assam Rifles organised a free medical camp at Sunhluchhip Aizawl district on 18 Jan 2010 as part of Army Military Civic Action under ‘OP SADBHAVNA’. The camp was organised at Sunhluchhip comprehensive Middle School Complex. A total Number of 537 patients of eight villages in and around Sunhluchhip areas including adults, newborns and school going children from across the District were provided free medical treatment and medicines. Most of them were suffering from gastritis, worms infection, anaemia, skin infections, respiratory tract infections, gynaecological problems and many others disease were treated.
The medical camp was inaugurated by Mr S Kapa, VCP Sunhluchhip. The camp was successfully organised with assistance of Deputy Commandant Mary Hranngul, SMO and Capt Mary Joy, MO, and Dr Lalparliani, SMO Darlawn PHC and a group of para medical staff. The huge crowd of locals at the camp itself was giving the hint that this med camp was long awaited. The area MLA, SMO and the VCP of Sunhluchhip have extended their thanks and gratitude towards the Medical team of Assam Rifles on behalf of Sunhluchhip village. They also requested the Assam Rifles to have more such Medical camp in the coming months.
