Aizawl, the 4th June 2020 : Health & Family Welfare Minister Dr. R. Lalthangliana who also holds the Higher & Technical portfolio chaired a meeting in his office today that discussed the reopening of colleges and examination schedule. The meeting attended by Chief Secretary Pu Lalnunmawia Chuaungo, authorities of Mizoram University and senior officials of the School Education and Higher & Technical Education Departments proposed 13th July 2020 tentatively for the reopening of Colleges subject to approval by the Government.

The meeting also deliberated upon the examination schedule proposed by Mizoram University. As proposed Under Graduate (VI) (Final) Semester Exam and Professional Courses (LLB, BCA, MCA leh BBA) Even Semester 2020 (II/IV/VI/VIII) Examination have been scheduled to begin from 20th July 2020 while Professional Courses (B.Ed, M.Ed, M.Pharm( excluding IV Sem), B. Bharm, B. Ed(Spl), B.Sc. (MLT), B. Optom, B.Sc. (RIT), BSW leh B.Sc. (Nursing)) Even Semester (II/IV/VI/VIII) Examination are slated to start from 17th August 2020.

The meeting pointed that the tentative date for reopening of colleges is subject to the developing COVID-19 situation in the state and can be changed, if the need arises to do so.

A meeting held under the auspices of the School Education Minister yesterday with officials of the School Education Department and various stakeholders yesterday proposed 15th July 2020 tentatively for reopening of schools subject to the Government’s approval on similar lines.
