Dated Khawzawl, the 15th April, 2021: Under the chairmanship of Deputy Commissioner, Khawzawl District Pu Zothanmawia, a meeting to speed up the progress of ongoing roads construction under Pradhan Mantri Sadak Yojana (PMGSY) and to restrain transportation of arecanut and other illegal goods through the district was held at DC’s Conference Hall, yesterday.

The meeting highlighted various ongoing PMSGY projects in the district which have target date for completion set till March 31, 2022. The meeting while stressing the urgent need to expedite all PMGSY projects resolved to curb smuggling of arecanut and all kinds of smuggling goods across the district with great fervour and close co-operation.

The meeting was attended by Superintendent of Police, Deputy Commandant 2nd IR Battalion, EE PWD, DLAO Champhai, Officers from DC office,Sub-Headquarters YMA and VC members from villages frequented by arecanut transportation.
