A meeting on viewing the preparedness of Bru/Reang repatration for Kolasib District was today held at the Deputy Commissioner’s Conference Hall, Kolasib in the presence of Pi Lalbiaksangi, Addl.Secretary, Home Department.

Kolasib Dy. Commissioner Pu Zoengsanga highlighted that the repatriation process for Kolasib District would begin on the 3rd October, 2019 and is projected to be completed by the 25th October, 2019 and hence urged all the concerned Officials and members of the Committee to put in their best efforts so as to ensure that the repatriation process may be carried out smoothly.

At the Meeting, the concerned Administrative Officers and Village Council members of the proposed re-settlement villages within Kolasib District highlighted the activities/duties that have been completed and also reported upon the activities yet to be taken up. Also, the Staging area, temporary Shelter, water, Electrification issues etc were discussed at length and was stated that few remaining issues would be addressed in full swing from tomorrow.

The 688 Bru/Reang families to be repatriated to Kolasib District will be re-settled in 10 villages of the District.
