The Chief Minister of Mizoram Lal Thanhawla, who is in Delhi had a meeting with Union Minister of State for Petroleum & Natural Gas (independent charge), Shri Dharmendra Pradhan at Shastri Bhawan on the exploration of hydrocarbons in the state.

The Chief Minister apprised the Union Minister of State that the progresses made by the three Corporations who are undertaking explorations in Mizoram are not up to acceptable levels. In addition, he stressed the need to find an alternative for the corporation who had withdrawn and was supposed to take up exploration in south Mizoram. He also urged the Shri Pradhan to press on the corporations to further hasten drilling ongoing at the north and in the heart of the state.

Shri Umakant, Officer-on–Special Duty for Mizoram House, New Delhi was also present in the meeting.
