1.The Mizoram Public Service Commission was scheduled to conduct Personal Interviews (PI) and written examinations for recruitment of several posts under the State Government when the Government of India decided to - impose a lockdown to contain the spread of COVID-19 pandemic. In view of these developments, the Commission decided to indefinitely keep on hlod all the hitherto scheduled Pis and written examinations.

 

2. With the announcement of commencement of the UNLOCK phase by government, the Commission, in response, took the initiative to resume with its Constitutionally mandated role by framing Standard Operating Procedures (SOP) for holding PI and conduct of written examinations which is designed to address the safety and health concern of candidates, invigilators, members and staff of the Mizoram Public Service Commission. The SOP inter alia also includes provisions for deployment of equipments and essential hardwares to facilitate the Commission's endeavours to provide for a safe and secure environment.

 

3. The Commission has devised an offline live PI system for conducting remote Pis using Audio/Video hardware equipments obviating the need for physical interface between the interviewers and interviewees. The Commission's staff involved in conduct of the Pis will also be equipped with suitable protective gear where physical contact is indispensible. Arrangements have been made for regular sanitization of all the rooms, halls, furniture and equipment. In compliance to the prescribed distancing norm, seating arrangement for the candidates at the venue will be made to ensure safe physical distancing. Protocol/guidelines to be followed by the candidates for appearing in the interview will be communicated to them.

 

4. The Commission is fully committed to its mandate while maintaining highest standards of health safety in tune with the prescribed norms of the government.
