The National Deworming Day 2021, to deworm all children between the ages of 1-19 years and to sensitize them on the harms associated with having worms was observed at Govt. GM High School here at Champhai.  Pi Maria C.T. Zuali, Deputy Commissioner Champhai District graced the occasion as the Chief Guest. The Deputy Commissioner also administered Albendazole tablets to students during the event to commence the week long programme.

Like the previous years, observance of  National Deworming Day in this year  will be conducted through bi-annual deworming  rounds on the months  of  February  and August.  As per August 2020 round of deworming coverage reports, total number of children (1-19 years) who were administered  Albendazole Tablets stood at 45626, which was 99.75% of the total target. The proposed target for National Deworming Day (NDD) 2021 for February round is  47397. 

The NDD programme was attended by Pi Maria C.T. Zuali DC, Dr. R.Lianmawia CMO, Pu T.T Laltanpuia DEO, Dr. Lallawmkima DIPRO, Pu H.Zothanmawia CDPO, Pu H.Lalhminghlua  Addl. DPC,  Samagra Shiksha, Teachers and Students of Govt. GM High School.
