National Technology day 2019 was celebrated today at Vanapa Hall, organised by Directorate of Science & Technology, Government of Mizoram. The celebration was graced by the presence of the state Chief Secretary Lalnunmawia Chuaungo, IAS as Chief guest and the programme was chaired by Dr Vanlalramsanga, Secretary, Planning, Govt. of Mizoram.
The Chief Secretary, Lalnunmawia Chuaungo, IAS, mentioned the use of technology even during the time of our ancestor in their daily lives to make their living more easy and encouraged the gathering science student to make use of technologies of today in a constructive manner. Lalnunmawia Chuango pointed out that, among all the important resources of the earth, human are the most important resources, therefore, urged the student to find on what field of learning they are interested in and to consult with their families before pursuing higher studies so that they can make the right decision on their carrier choices and to become a valuable resource for the state and nation.
Dr Vanlalramsanga, Secretary address the gathering and stated that, use of technology can be very handy but at the same time can be detrimental as well, therefore, must be used carefully.
A report on the progress and undertakings of the Directorate of Science & Technology was presented by the Chief Scientific Officer, Dr RK Lallianthanga, and vote of thanks delivered by Er H Lalsawliana, Principal Scientific Officer to wind up the programme. About 18 indigenous innovators display their innovations as part of the National Technology Day 2019 celebrations at Vanapa Hall.
