The National Institute of Technology (NIT) Mizoram Board of Governors which landed at the Lengpui Airport yesterday to attend the first Board of Governors meeting scheduled to be held in Aizawl later in the evening called on the Chief Minister Pu Lal Thanhawla at his bungalow yesterday evening.

The venue for the first meeting of the NIT Mizoram Board of Governors is the culmination of the proposal put forward by the Mizoram Chief Minister to the central government earlier. The first batch of the NIT Mizoram have already  started its academic session in Nagpur and the next session is scheduled to be held in Aizawl sometime in the month of July - August this year. The Board of Governors meeting will decide in the meeting the temporary site for the session and all other important issues apart from permanent site for the campus.

Since the NIT Mizoram is directly under the central government authority, all the 8 members of the Board of Governors and 2 Special Invitess are also appointed by the Union Ministry of HRD.

All members of the board except its Chairman Mr.K.Ravi Kumar could managed to arrived Aizawl. The other members  includes Prof. T.S. Sampath Kumar, IIT, Madras; Mr.V.R.Jamdar, Member, Prof. A.G. Despande, VNIT, Nagpur; Prof. D.J. Katyayan,VNIT, Nagpur; Dr. H.T.Thorat, VNIT, Nagpur; Dr. B.M.Ganveer, VNIT, Nagpur and Pi Esther Lal Ruatkimi, Secretary to the Gov of Mizoram, H&TE etc. The 2 Special Invitees are Dr. HL Malsawma,Director, H&TE and Mr Daniel Hauhnar, OSD, NIT, Mizoram.
