Indian Chamber of Commerce Kolkata with the support of the Industries Department, Government of Mizoram and DoNER organized a one day Seminar on Investment Opportunity in Mizoram for potential investors from other states in Mizoram at the State Guest House Aizawl. The Meet - the first of its kind in the state was attended by delegates from about 27 different companies whose interests ranged from power, cement; hotel and hospitality; education and skill development, agro-based, forest based and food processing sectors.
Inaugurating the Seminar, Industries Minister S Hiato pointed that Mizoram, one of the most peaceful states is blessed with natural resources which is still underutilized and stressed upon the need to harness the industrial potential of the state for boosting the economy. He added that Mizoram has an excellent climate for investment and coupled with central government schemes for industrial promotion such as Transport and Capital Subsidy; Central Excise and Income Tax Exemption industrial houses can really benefit. The Parliamentary Secretary H Zothangliana who also spoke of the occasion said the need of the hour is to be investment-friendly and help mould the mindset of the people towards industrial development by striking the right chord.

The Chief Secretary Vanhela Pachuau IAS and Industries Secretary R L Rinawma IRS
spoke about the different potential sectors that are available for investment in Mizoram. Later delegates from various business houses interacted with senior ranking officers of various Departments to discuss their potential plans and also seek clarification from the concerned Departments.
