Mr. Tridip Kumar Hazarika, Department of Horticulture, Aromatic and Medicinal Plants, Mizoram University, Aizawl has awarded Ph. D. Degree by Mizoram University for his work  entitled “Evaluation of Integrated Nutrient Management Packages for Growth, Yield and Quality of Banana cv. Grand Naine in Mizoram” under the Supervision of Dr. B. P. Nautiyal, HOD, department of Horticulture, Aromatic and Medicinal Plants and Dr. R. K. Bhattacharyya, Professor, Assam Agricultural University, Jorhat, Assam. Mr. Hazarika is currently serving as Assistant Professor in the department. During his Ph.D. work, Mr Hazarika worked extensively on various growth, yield and quality parameters of Grand Naine banana under the influence of INM packages, which is an excellent export oriented variety. His recommendation will greatly help banana cultivation in Mizoram. Mr. Hazarika is first researcher who got Ph.D. degree from department of Horticulture, Aromatic and Medicinal Plants,MizoramUniversity, which was only established during 2007-08.
