District Election Officer, Aizawl issued the following press note regarding EVM glitch at polling station 10-Ramhlun Venglai II:

"This morning it was reported that the Hon'ble Chief Minister of Mizoram, Mr. Zoramthanga, a voter at ll-Aizawl North - II (ST) Assembly Constituency at polling station 10-Ramhlun Venglai II located at Govt. Primary School faced a predicament while trying to cast his vote as the first voter at the booth. Due to minor technical glitch, the Hon'ble CM was not able to cast his vote at that time. Nevertheless the issue was promptly resolved by the polling party and voting was continued. There was no need for replacement of the EVM, and the Hon'ble CM later visited the polling station and cast his vote at 9:46 AM. Total number of votes at this PS is 672 and 475 voters have cast their vote till 4 PM. Thus, the issue was completely resolved and the process of voting went on smoothly as per schedule.
