Aizawl, the 8th November 2023: Governor Dr. Hari Babu Kambhampati flagged in the NCC North Eastern Region (NER) Rally for Cadets which had started from Shillong on 06 Nov 2023 reached Aizawl on November 8, 2023, at the courtyard of Gajraj Hall, 2 Bn Assam Rifles, Aizawl. thereafter, a short function was held at Gajraj Hall.

Governor in his speech appreciated the initiative taken by Major General Gagan Deep, ADG NCC Directorate North East Region (NER), and wished to have more of such events to spread the awareness. He also valued the NCC's contribution to the development of the country's youth. He lauded the NCC for guiding the youth in fulfilling our patriotic duty in line with the motto of ‘Unity and Discipline’. He also spoke of how Mizoram has contributed and participated enthusiastically in the NCC. He further added that the students of the State will benefit more from the recent addition of 2 Mizoram Battalion NCC in southern Mizoram at Lunglei.

Major General Gagan Deep, ADG in his brief speech expressed gratitude to the  Governor for his support to all the initiatives of the NCC. He also thanked Brig Girish Upadhya, SM*, VSM, DIG Assam Rifles, and officers of Assam Rifles and the NCC Mizoram for the warm welcome and support.

The convoy of 12 cars under the command of Major General Gagan Deep ADG NCC Directorate North East Region (NER) is commemorating the 75 Years of NCC and aims to spread the message of national integrity. The rally also commemorates the completion of 75 glorious years of NCC.

The Rally will have a one-day technical halt in Aizawl on 09 Nov 23. The Rally from November 6 to November 26, 2023, with a 3500km drive will traverse all of the Seven Sister States of NER projecting the goals of fostering cultural interchange, showcasing NCC principles to prospective cadets, and raising awareness of India's involvement in the G20. These would entail the participation of local youth and the hierarchy in all venues for cultural performances, discussions, street plays, painting and slogan competitions, and other Social Service and Community Development (SS&CD) events. These activities will play a vital role in strengthening the emotional and cultural bonds that NER's population has with one another. This will also be essential to achieving the objective of promoting NCC across the area. The rally aims to promote National Integration along with Cultural Exchange and simultaneously spread awareness about the role of G20 – ‘ One Earth, One Family, One Future’ while taking the message of NCC to rural areas of NER.
