Shri P.S. Sreedharan Pillai, a renowned Lawyer  is sworn in as the 21st  Governor of Mizoram at the Swearing in Ceremony held earlier today.

The Oath of Office to the new Governor was administered by Chief Justice Ajai Lamba, Gauhati High Court at the Circular Lawn, Raj Bhavan, Mizoram. The Warrant of Appointment of Shri P.S. Sreedharan Pillai as the Governor of Mizoram was read out by  Shri.Lalnunmawia Chuango, Chief Secretary. The official Photograph session was held after the ceremony which was followed by Press Conference. Later in the afternoon, he had formally taken his seat in his office.

Chief Minister Pu Zoramthanga, Speaker Pu Lalrinliana Sailo, Ministers, Ministers of state, MLAs, top officials and special invitees  were among the over 400 plus guests present at the Swearing in ceremony.

Shri P.S. Sreedharan Pillai was born in  December 1, 1953, at Venmony panchayat in Alappuzha District, Kerala,  India to Shri.V. G. Sukumaran Nair and Smt.Bhavani Amma. He graduated in Arts from NSS College, Pandalam. Later, he pursued his degree in law from Government Law College, Calicut and completed the course in the year 1978. He is a renowned Lawyer by Profession and is married to Smt. Reetha Sreedhar, who is also a lawyer by profession. They had one son and one daughter. Before his appointment to the Governor of Mizoram, he was affiliated to Kerela State BJP. During his political career, he became President of the Kerela State BJP from 2003 to 2006. Outside his political and professional sphere, Shri P.S. Sreedharan Pillai is known to be a social activist and a prolific writer.  Till date had published volumes of books in his name.
