Siaha District Deputy Commissioner and Chairman Rashtriya Uchchatar Shiksha Abhiyan (RUSA)  Committee, Pu Bhupesh Chaudhary IAS,  visited  Gov't Saiha College,Siaha in the forenoon of Today, here at Siaha. He inspected on-going construction works of Library cum Seminar Hall, Vertical extension of Academic and Administration Building, Canteen building etc which was funded under RUSA  to the tune of Rs.400 lakhs.

DC was received by GSC principal Dr.Abdul Hannan Barbhuiya  and his colleques; and brief interaction session between DC and Faculty members was held at Principal office's chamber.

DC was informed that of all the colleges in Mizoram, GSC has the least number of Faculty members, while their total minimum strength was supposed to be at least 24. Their present strength stood at abysmal low 19, and regular members strength fared no better and counted to only 9. GSC is one of the oldest colleges amongst colleges in Mizoram, but lagged far behind her junior Colleges which were striding with  Faculty members strength of  30 above.

They poignantly pointed out to  DC that ; Inmates of Women's Hostel cooked for themselves as their cook was attached to Hrangbana college at Aizawl.

DC also had a brief interaction with the students and exhorted them to give importance to english subject. He reiterated that  english writing skills and fluency in spoken English is the key to job opportunities across the globe and the mantra of future's success.

DC was accompanied by Pu H.Zonunmawia, Election Officer leh Pu N.Vabeiratlua,DIPRO in his visits  to GSC.
