As a part of the ongoing Mizoram Drug Demand Reduction programme under National Action Plan for Drug Demand Reduction (NAPDDR), a four day ‘Re-orientation Programme for key resource persons on drug demand reduction’ is being held at the Directorate of SCERT Seminar Room, Aizawl. The programme was formally inaugurated yesterday in the presence of SCERT Director Pi Laldawngliani Chawngthu.

The re-orientation programme will touch upon subjects like prevention against drug abuse, treatment and rehabilitation of addicts, ill effects of drug abuse, vulnerability of youth to drug dependence, imparting skill development among youth to instill a sense of purpose and self-esteem to steer them away from drugs, how to overcome depression and mental illness etc.
