The Republic of the Union of Myanmar Military Delegates visits the Mizoram University as part of their Diplomatic Outreach program where there was a discussion on the topic ‘Democracy and Federalism’ with resource persons from the University.

The programme was chaired by Prof. Lalrintluanga, Dean, School of Social Sciences, Mizoram University, Prof. KRS Sambasiva Rao, Vice Chancellor delivers a welcome speech and Prof. JK Patniak, Prof. Srinibas Pathi, Prof J Doungel and Dr K Robin gives a brief presenttion on Democracy and Federalism, Mizo Peace Process and Bengal Eastern Frontier Regulation & Chin Hills Regulation 1896. An interactive discussion on federalism, role and responsibilities of the Governor of the state and the Chief minister and democracy was continued between the Military delegates and Resource persons from the University.

Myanmar military delegates were accompanied by officials from National Museum and Library (NMML), New Delhi, and the delegates were Lt. General Aung Lin Dwe, Office of the Judge Advocate General, Maj. General Soe Naing Oo, Maj. General Than Hlut Thein, Colonel Khin Maung Kyi, Colonel Kyaw Soe Oo, Colonel Kyaw Lin Maung, Lt. Colonel Than Soe, Lt. Colonel Khin Zaw and Captain Thet Zin Aung.
