A meeting of Rubber & Allied Crops Development Board was held under the Chairmanship Shri R. Lalzirliana, Minister, Land Resources, Soil & Water Conservation who is the Chairman of the Board as well in his Office Chamber. Vice Chairman of the Board Shri Lalrinsanga Ralte, MLA and other Members discussed various agenda on the development of rubber, broom, coffee and areacanut under the state flagship programme – Socio Economic Development Programme (SEDP).

Shri Valbuanga, Member Secretary of the Board and Secretary, Land Resources, Soil & Water Conservation Department presented various proposals mooted to be taken up by the Board in the coming years with the main focus being on increasing the existing rubber plantations in the state for more rubber based livelihoods projects. Other proposals include expansion and rejuvenation of coffee plantations, broom crop cultivation, areacanut plantations and processing facilities, and enhancement of soil and water conservation measures.
