Aizawl the 10th June, 2026:

1. On 09.06.2026, one vehicle KIA bearing Registration No. UP32NZ6396 was intercepted by Saitual Police team at the outskirts of Keifang, driven by Somraj (32), S/o Ramrakh Ram, and proceeding from Manipur towards Aizawl. On checking of the vehicle, 71 packets of suspected opium fluid were recovered which was concealed inside the vehicle. The contraband was recovered and seized from the possession of:

1. Somraj(36) s/o Ramrakh Ram of Jodhpur, Padiyal, Rajasthan.
2. Kailash(28) s/o Mohan Ram of Narsing Nagar, Dhawa-1, Jodhpur, Rajasthan
   

The contraband weighed 45.871 Kgs, having an estimated illicit market value of approximately ₹2.29 Crores. Saitual PS Case/No.57/2026 Dt.09.06.2026 u/s 18(b)/25/29 ND&PS Act was registered and further investigation is underway.

2. On 08.06.2026, Champhai Police on duty at Khankawn Check Gate halted one vehicle proceeding from Champhai towards Aizawl for routine checking. During the inspection, one passenger, identified as Vanlalnghaka (36 years) of Tualcheng, presently residing at Vengsang, Champhai District, aroused suspicion of carrying contraband substances in his belongings.

Accordingly, a thorough search of his black rucksack was conducted. A pair of red- coloured Reebok shoes was found inside the bag. Upon closer examination, 2 soap cases of suspected Heroin, weighing 29 grams with an estimated market value of approximately ₹5,80,000, concealed within the shoes were recovered and seized. Champhai PS C/No. 92/26 dt. 08/06/26 u/s 21(b) NDPS Act was registered.
