Siaha; the 26th January,2023: The 74th Republic Day celebration was held at District Playground, Siaha and the celebration kicked off at 8:30 AM today.

Shri Lalsangliana,Deputy Commissioner of Siaha District benignly graced this auspicious occasion as the Chief Guest and unfurled National Flag which was accompanied by rendition of National Anthem by Siaha High School Choir.

Speaking on this momentous occasion; Shri Lalsangliana exhorted the gathering public to remind themselves of the blood, sweats and tears shed by the likes of our freedom fighters: Mahatma Gandhi,Jawaharlal Nehru, Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel,Subhas Chandra Bose etc. in their freedom struggles and also to remind themselves of the bravery, loyalty, integrity, undying love for their country etc. exhibited by our founding fathers and stalwart leaders during their struggle for independence against the British. To commemorate the 74th Republic Day, Shri Lalsangliana once again implored the gathering public to vow to follow the footsteps of our forgone leaders and become a good and responsible citizen of India.

Shri Lalsangliana highlighted some of the remarkable strides made by Siaha District on the path of growth and Progress through various departments within Siaha district during 2022-2023.

A total of 13 Parade Contingents, consisting of 5 Uniform contingents and 8 School contingents participated in the Parade drill.Prizes were awarded separately to Uniform and school contingent according to their drill performance.

To commemorate Republic Day-2023, Volleyball Tournament was held for Men & Women.
Men's Champion--- Model United Volleyball Club, Runner Up--- Southern Spiker
Women's Champion --- Chhimkum Volleyball Club, Runner Up-- Siahatla Volleyball Club

As a part of Republic Day-2023 celebration, Rs. 3000/- each was presented to Hospitals, Rrphanage Homes, Jails etc. totalling 9 in numbers and Rs.27,000/-
