• Smt. Nazuk Kumar IAS,
  • Deputy Commissioner, Aizawl
  • Officials
  • Dear participants
  • Chibai and warm greetings to all present here today
  • It is a great pleasure and honor for me to address at this event of Viksit Bharat Sankalp Yatra (VBSY), which is a visionary initiative that holds the promise of transforming our  Mizoram and contributing to the progress of the nation as a whole.
  • As we all know, on 15th November, 2023, Honorable Prime Minister launched this mega saturation drive called ‘Viksit Bharat Sankalp Yatra’ across the country with the objectives of ‘Reaching the unreached’ vulnerable people, who are eligible under various schemes but have not availed the benefit so far, by dissemination of information and generating awareness about schemes and enrolment of potential beneficiaries.
  • The main objective of this drive is the saturation of the various Central Government Schemes, as we aim to become a Developed Nation by the year 2047.
  • Ever since I assumed the office of the Governor of Mizoram, I had noted that the people of this State are generally not aware of the numerous Central Government Schemes that are available.
  • Therefore, I had pursued the matter on a mission mode, by instructing the various stakeholders to educate the masses regarding these beneficial schemes.
  • I am very happy that the Central Government has now undertaken this mega saturation drive in our quest for development.
  • It is no secret that Mizoram is financially challenged, and that resource mobilization is extremely difficult.
  • In such a scenario, we must make the best use of the Schemes which are meant for the benefit of the public.
  • VBSY involves learning from citizens through beneficiary interaction. A few days back, Pu Hruaia from Durtlang North interacted with the Honorable Prime Minister about his experience related to Organic Farming under Mission Organic Value chain development for North East Region.
  • I am delighted that our State has made significant strides in the direction of intended outcomes of the Yatra.
  • Till 15th January, 2024, a total of 344 event locations have been covered, which have seen participation of 30,561 people. I am also delighted that out of these 344, 124 Gram Panchayats have received Ayushman Bharat Card Saturation.
  • Har Ghar Jal saturation is reported in 127 Gram Panchayat. 167 Gram Panchayats have achieved ODF Plus model, and 49  Gram Panchayats have completed 100% digitisation of land records.
  • A total of 13096 new My Bharat Volunteer registrations have been done. Also, 5531 new Ayushman Bharat Cards were issued in these events.
  • 1057 women were given different awards, alongwith 857 awards to students, 266 awards to local sports persons and 46 awards to Local artists.
  • As part of the Yatra, I earnestly urge all the key stakeholders to disseminate these useful schemes to the masses.
  • I also request the general public to make an attempt to be aware of these schemes, so that all the intended beneficiaries can avail them.
  • I encourage all the officials to keep up the good work, and I request you to continue giving your best in the interest of our Nation.
  • I am sure that our efforts together will lead us to ultimately become a Viksit Bharat.
  • In conclusion, I thank the organizers for today’s programme.
  • I wish all the participants success in your sincere endeavours.
  • Thank you. Jai Hind.
