Sports Minister Pu Robert Romawia Royte visited Chite Veng cemetery and Chite Football Ground this morning which falls within his legislative assembly constituency.

Pu Robert Romawia, who was accompanied by the Horticulture Director Pi Elizabeth Saipari and SIPMIU Project Director Er Rothanga held a discussion with Chite Veng local council members and local NGO leaders to resolve problems caused by the installation of SIPMIU pipelines across the Horticulture Department’s land connecting the Chite cemetery. They agreed to build a temporary access road which would later be replaced by a permanent pavement connecting Chite cemetery. 

The Minister then visited Chite Football Ground and told the officials & community leaders accompanying him that the government is planning to increase the size of the football ground to meet international standard, and his desire to lay top quality artificial turf at the ground. The Minister was accompanied by Er. Lalrothanga, C.E.O, Smart City Ltd., Pu Zothanmawia, Director, Sports & Youth Services, officials from SYS and MSSC, NGOs representatives and Local Council Members of Chite Veng.

Chite Veng Local Council expressed their gratitude to the Minister and concerned officials  for addressing their problems and also thanked the Minister for planning to lay artificial turf at Chite Football Ground.

The Minister later visited Armed Police Field at Mualpui to find out problems and issues faced by the police in maintaining the field.
