State Election Commission, Mizoram issued press release lauding the successful conduct of by-election to II/1 Chaltlang, IX/3 Chhinga Veng and XIII/3 Kanan Local Councils under Aizawl Municipal Corporation to fill-up casual vacancy of one member each. The press release stated that out of 12583 voters in these Local Council Constituencies, a total of 5369 voters cast their vote which is 42.67%. Out of three candidates contesting Chaltlang Local Council Reserved Seat, Pi Lalramhluni of MNF Party won the election by securing 865 votes (total voters in the roll is 4881). Out of three candidates contesting Chhinga Veng Local Council Reserved Seat Pi H. Lalhruaikimi of MNF Party won by securing 911 votes (total voters in the roll is 4932). ). Out of three candidates contesting Kanan Local Council General Seat, Pu C. Lalrinzuala of MNF Party was declared winner by securing 759 votes (total voters in the roll is 2770).
The State Election Commission, Mizoram lauds the dedication and laborious efforts of Aizawl Deputy Commissioner & District Municipal Election Officer, and his staff for the successful and methodically arranged election. The Commission also praised the efforts of security personnel under the guidance of Superintendent of Police, Aizawl District for msintaining law and order resulting into peaceful and incident-free election. It also appreciates Returning Officers, Assistant Returning Officers, Presiding Officers and Polling Officers for diligently carrying out their duties successfully. The Commission also thanked Mizoram Peoples' Forum, the people Chaltlang, Chhinga Veng and Kanan mipui and YMAs for their support without which the election could never be a success.
