District Election Office, Lawngtlai organised observance of the 10th National Voters' Day, 2020 at DC's Conference Hall with a theme, "Electoral Literacy for Stronger Democracy" yesterday.
Pu Lalremruata Sailo, Election Officer presided over the programme and Pu K. Laltlawmlova, Deputy District Election Officer graced the function as Chief Guest. Officials, political parties and students attended the function.
Delivering a speech, the Chief Guest said casting a vote is every citizen's right as well as responsibility in a democracy. He asked the gathering to remember the theme of this year's NVD and always to cast their votes in every election.
Pu Hmingmawizuala, Asst Electoral Registration Officer administered a pledge for upholding democratic traditions and dignity of free, fair and peaceful elections to the gathering public. Pu Vabeimozachhi Chozah, AERO read out the Chief Electoral Officer's message on NVD.
