Prior to the 3rd site visit to various undertakings of JAL SHAKTI ABHIYAN(A  water conservation campaign), a brief meeting was held at DC's Conference Room , here at Siaha, today ,to take the stock of the situation and table-top overview of various undertakings of JSA.

 Today's JSA meeting was graced by Shri.Lalsanglur, Central Prabhari Officer for JSA and Economic Adviser, Ministry of Chemical and Fertilizer,GoI , Shri. Manik Chandra Pandit,Deputy Secretary,Ministry of Rural Development and Dr.Sanjay Kumar,Scientist E, National Institute of Hydrology.

JSA is a pet project of Hon'ble Prime Minister of India, it is to be implimented in 256 identified water stressed districts across the country.It aims at amoliorating water scarcity problems by conservation of water and water resources management by focusing on implimentation of five targeted interventions.It also aims at making a water conservation movement for life through assets creation and communication campaign.

Siaha distrist is one amongst those identified water stressed districts from Mizoram state.

JSA  ran in two phases  and 1st Phase being started from 1st July,2019 to 15th September,2019  for those States &UTs which received in coming monsoon,  and 2nd phase will run from 1st October,2019 to 30th November,2019 for those states& UTs which received retreating monsoon

JAS is spearheaded and implimented by officers, scientists and experts from GoI in co-operation with officials from concerned states and districts. They will work in the realm of those five targeted interventions.

After a brief meeting at DC's conference room got over, Shri.Lalsanglur and his team alongwith concerned officials proceeded to the sites of various undertakings under JSA within Siaha RD Block. Tomorrow Pu Sanga and his team will continue sites visit of various undertakings of JSA under Tipa, RD Block as well.

Today's  meeting was well attended by Head of Office, MJA members, representatives of various local NGOs, Joint VC, and special invitees.
