The Hon'ble Governor of Mizoram State Shri. PS.Sreedhan Pillai along with Lady Governor Smt. Reetha Sreedharan visited Siaha District by Helicopter, and arrived at 2:30Pm, and stayed overnight here at Siaha.

Hon'ble Governor and Lady Governor was accorded a grand and funfare traditional reception at the courtyard of Mara Autonomous District Council. Reception programme was presided over by Shri. K.Chhihrau, Secretary to MADC.

Shri. N.Zakhai CEM, MADC delivered welcome speech and presented Mara Traditional apparels to the Governor and Lady Governor.

Speaking at the grand reception; Hon'ble Governor profusely thanked the People of Maraland for receiving him in their traditional attires and pomps with gay abandoned which vividly showcased their beautiful and rich culture, and distinct identity as well. Hon'ble Governor reiterated that "In a vibrant democracy like ours, the will of the public must always be supreme and the good of the public must always be on top priority" . We may be affiliated to different political parties and have had our differences and misunderstandings in our political envevours. we must never forget that all our political destination and purpose, irrespective of party idiologies, is to serve the people. In our stride towards progress and development ,We must not left behind any one, that is exactly what our Hon'ble Prime Minister's Sabka Saath Sabka Vikas(Collective efforts inclusive growth) aims and advocated.

Even though more than 70years had gone by since India got her freedom; we must fight hard to attain ultimate Freedom wherein our weakest of the weak stratum of society have their bare minimum necessities , and the last man in the qeuau too get his share of progress and development. Ultimate Freedom is what our Father of the Nation,Mahatma Gandhi vehemently propounded.Hon'ble Governor urged the people of Siaha District to firmly uphold the India's noble ethos of Unity in Diversity and national integrity and added that as " India is known for its religious tolerance since time immemorial and it has a great tradition of unity in diversity and we must make sure that this great tradition lives on."

He also informed the gathering Public that He had a talk with Chief Engineer of Border Road Organisation, regarding improvement of roads condition under Automous District Councils before coming to Siaha.

In this solemn reception programme, ECM New Colony Choir reverently rendered their song and Mara cutural dance-Sawlakia was performed by Art & Culture Dept,MADC, and programme was finally concluded with a proposal of vote of thanks from Shri.Bhupesh Chaudhary, DC Siaha.

After reception programme got over, Hon'ble Governor and Lady Governor pay a visit to District Hospital and had interaction with patients therein, and give away present to all the patients as well. Governor then proceeded to Circuit house and had interview with leaders of various NGOs, Village council, MJA, Student Body etc. before partaking in dinner prepared in their honour.
