Election Department, Mizoram organised training on Electors' Verification Programme (EVP) at State Guest House, Aizawl today.
Pu FJ Liantluanga, Jt.CEO inaugurated the training which was attended by Election Officers of the 8 districts in the state and District-Level Master Trainers. The training was conducted by State Level Master Trainers Pu Malsawmzuala, Asst CEO and Pi H. Vanlalruatfeli wherein the trainees were acquainted with the process and other important issues regarding Electors Verification Programme.
EVP is an initiative of the Election Commission of India to maintain systematic and organized electoral roll.
The programme will be run to encourage electors to come forward to authenticate their details in the electoral roll by submitting any of the documents such as Aadhar Card, Driving Licence, PAN Card or any other document approved by the government, through Common Service Centres or Booth Level Officers.
People can also verify their electoral roll details through National Voters' Service Portal nvsp.in or by dialing Voter helpline number "1950". EVP will be followed by Special Summary Revision of Electoral Roll, 2020.
