A Unity Run has been organised by the District Education Officer as a mark to upheld the spirit of Rashtrya Ekta Diwas (National Unity Day)  which commemorates the birth anniversary of Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel with the students from various schools in the town of Mamit.  The rally started from Charkawn junction towards Govt.  Mamit High school in which a short gathering was organised to tell the importance and significance of unity in diversity of our country.

District Deputy Commissioner Pu Lalrozama IAS told the students that unity is strength and 'unity in diversity' is the energy from which our county's synergy is derived from. The composite matrix of races,  colour, religion and tribes living in the county should flow the same course of unity and fraternity and sing the same slogan of universal brotherhood towards peace and prosperity.

Pi Lalnunthari DEO Mamit conducted the short assembly by welcoming the guest and all the participants of the Unity Run.  Pu Hmartawnluaia Headmaster of the Govt. Mamit High School-I led all the attendees to the oath taking session in which they all pledge to solemnly stand-up for the unity of the country as envisaged by the founding fathers of our great country.
